Entrepreneur finalists are announced
Ernst & Young cites 27 leaders in dynamic and growing businesses

Technology consultants, energy management and an online job-search company are some of the Virginia businesses represented by this year's Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalists.
Professional-services firm Ernst & Young announced the 27 outstanding Virginia entrepreneurs, who represent 13 companies. The program honors individuals who are building and leading dynamic and growing businesses.
Winners will be chosen in several categories by an independent panel of judges made up of business, academic and civic leaders. Awards will be announced June 16 at a gala at the Richmond Marriott Hotel.
This year's Virginia finalists are:
• Kenneth Ampy, founder and chief executive officer; Dana Love, president; and Samuel S. Young, founder chief operating officer, of Astyra Corp., Richmond;
• Steven S. Baum, James E. Johnson, Barry M. Koski, Joseph C. Lyne Jr. and George A. Minor, all vice presidents, and Christopher J. Ziegler, president, of Compass Energy Services Inc., Richmond;
• Robert Lynch, president and CEO of CyMed Inc., Richmond;
• Rooz Dadabhoy, CEO of Data Concepts LLC, Glen Allen;
• Gordon L. Fox Jr., president and CEO of Home Care Delivered Inc., Glen Allen;
• Deane Cheatham, Bonnie Chenault, Mike Chenault, Rodney Chenault and Todd Rogers, co-owners of Hometown Realty, Glen Allen;
• William F. Loving, COO, and Scott K. Walker, CEO, of Ironworks Consulting LLC, Glen Allen;
• Rafe W. Wilkinson, owner of Old Dominion Security Co. Inc. of Richmond;
• G. Kenneth Moshenek, president and COO of Royster-Clark Inc., Norfolk;
• Lloyd S. "Chip" Dollins Jr., vice president; R. Scott Kelley, president and CEO; and R. Randolph Weis, vice president, of Service Center Metals, Prince George;
• Shawn Boyer, CEO of SnagAJob.com Inc. of Richmond;
• John D. Tickle, president of Strongwell Corp., Bristol; and
• Randy Copeland, president and CEO of Velocity Micro Inc., Richmond.
State winners will be eligible for Ernst & Young's national 2005 Entrepreneur of the Year program. Winners in several national categories and an overall winner will be named at an awards ceremony in Palm Springs, Calif., in November.
At the June gala in Richmond, Ernst & Young also will give special recognition to the leaders of two Virginia companies.
Nicholas F. Taubman, director and retired chairman and CEO of Advance Auto Parts of Roanoke will receive the master entrepreneur of the year award. Charles S. Luck III, chairman, and Charles S. Luck IV, president and CEO of Luck Stone Corp., will receive lifetime achievement awards.
